How does the program work?
- Find the wheelset you want to race.
- Use our three set online check out system (or call us at 347-404-5315 M-F)
- Get the wheels.
- Race the wheels.
- Return the wheels... or keep them!
We have an awesome range from triathalon/time trial wheels, cyclocross wheels, road wheels, powertap wheels and track wheels. You decide what wheels you want, when you want them, you can pay online with credit card or Paypal, and the wheels are shipped to you to use and return.
Do I pay for the days the wheels are being shipped to me?
No. Only the days you have them.
My race is Saturday only. Do I have to pay for Sunday, too?
If you can get the wheels to a FedEx location (and have them scanned into the FedEx system) on Saturday, then you do not have to pay for Sunday. But, if you have them on Sunday, you pay for Sunday. Most wheels its only $20 for this extra day.
Does Echappe ship the wheels directly to me?
For Bontranger products, we ship to your local Trek Dealer. For all other products we can ship directly to you, your hotel, your favorite bike shop.
I'm going to an event not in my home town. Do you ship to my hotel?
Yes. We do this many times a week. We can also ship to any Trek dealer in the lower 48.
How soon in advance do the wheels have to be reserved?
It's a "first come, first serve" deal. We only have so many wheels in stock, if three athletes are aiming at renting one pair of wheels in a weekend...first come! That's why it's so great that we give folks the opportunity to reserve wheels ahead of time. We'll reserve the wheels for whatever day ahead of time you want or even just the day before. That's another benefit of our Day Pass.* You only have to "reserve" or order the wheels in enough time for us to ship them to you (if they're coming from another rep) or deliver them if they're in my stock.
How is the fee structure? Daily, etc.
There are two ways to rent. You can rent by paying a daily fee, or rent with our Day Pass. Daily amounts are set. With the Day Pass, instead of paying for the wheels by the day, you buy a certain amount of dates at a set price, whether it's a block of 5, 10+ days. You can use those days however you want! If I buy a 5 Day Pass, I can use two days now to get used to the wheels and three days once race time comes around. Or vice versa. Or however I want!!! It's totally up to you!
What happens in the event of a mishap?
In the words of the great Forrest Gump...well, maybe not, but...it happens. In the event of a mishap, we can definately issue you a credit. We also offer (excuse my French) "crash insurance". If, while riding the wheels, you hit the deck and you were fortunate enough to remember to click the insurance button when placing your order, sweet! Just hand them back or send them back to the company as you usually would and you're out of the woods (with just a little road rash).
Are the wheels here locally?
All wheels are kept in Trexlertown, PA. If you are in the area, you can pick them up from us. Otherwise, we will ship them.
Will you have an inventory at the races?
If we sponsor a race, we'll definitely have wheels available. For select races reps might bring what they have down. Most reps bring TT wheels to their local TT events or triathlon events.
How long are my Day Passes good for?
One year from the date of your purchase.
How do I place a reservation since the shopping cart is set up for standard orders?
Call at 347-404-5315 or click the "Request for Day Pass" ath the top of every page and we can get you rolling. Please give us 2 weeks for your order so we can schedule it properly. We are still a first come first serve basis, and this block does not gaurantee you wheels should someone reserve the available inventory before you.
What wheels am I limited to with a Day Pass?
None. This block is open to all brands, types and stages of pricing. Disc wheels are an additional $20/day when paired with a front wheel. Powertaps are $30/day.
Why wouldn't I jut buy wheels on eBay for $825 and use them for the season instead of buying 30 days here?
Everyone who asks this seems to forget that our wheels are professionally maintained, race ready and always reliable. Furthermore, there is not one set of wheels that is perfect for all conditions. Sometimes shallow wheels are better. Sometimes deep wheels are better. With Echappe, you always have the right wheels.
I can afford to buy these, so why shouldn't I?
As the guys at Colorado Premier Training will tell you, there is not one perfect wheel for all conditions. Get the right wheel for the race. Period.
Is Crash Insurance Included?
If you purchase the Day Passes with the Crash Insurance, then yes. If you do not, then you have to buy a coverage plan every time you use some days in order to be covered. More info about the crash insurance is here.
Does this cover disc wheels?
Single discs are covered. Disc wheels when mated with a front wheelare an additional $20/day, regardless of how many pre-bought days you purchased or how many days you are using at once.
Does this cover Powertap wheels?
Powertap Wheels are an additional charge for Day Passes.
Powertap Wheelset (front and rear): $30/day
Powertap Disc only : $30/day
Powertap Disc and front wheel : $50/day
Powertaps aren't free and these fees allow us to carry these products for rental.
If I do not use all my days, can I get cash back?
No, sorry. This is not an exchange for cash program.
Can I add days?
Yes. You can add days one at a time should you run out. The standard addtional day rates apply
