rental Pricing and FAQ:
You have two options: Day Passes or Standard Rentals.
Day Passes are pretty awesome. They save you a ton of money if you are planning on racing a minimum of 5 days this season. Buy them in blocks of 5, but use them non-consecutively through the season. We also include a one time crash insurance option, saving you big time.
Check it out.
Standard pricing is a system we started that we think is as fair as anything you'll ever find in the cycling or triathlon world. You pay as you go for as many days as you need. Just here to test something once before you buy it? Perfect.
Check it out here.
Buy Blocks of non-consecutive Day Passes:
Get access to the entire quiver of inventory for one flat fee. Buy blocks of race days at increments of 5 and save big- instead of the initial set up day charge, every day is the same low cost. The more days you buy, the cheaper the days become.
Example: You have 2 "A" races this season. One day you need the wheels in your possession for 3 days. The next you need them for a weekend, 2 days. This would normally be $350 in rental fees here, but with blocks you can get them for $200!
Example 2: A road racer has 5 "A" races in a season and multiple races around them where he/she can test the equipment. Buying 30 days for $825 is $27/day to ride $2500 wheels every time. Say the first race is Tour de Gila- get some 202s or HED Scorpios and add a disc in for only $20. 5 days are used up, with 25 days remaining. Next up is Tour of Battenkill in April- get a set of HED Stinger 6s for 2 days. 23 days remaining. Then Fitchburg-Longsjo Classic. Get some DuraAce 7850s for the road and circuit and Echappe Classic for the crit and a disc for the TT while only using 4 days. Then you go to the end of Superweek and use 5 days there. With the remaining 14 days you can spread them out for the local TT series and make some cash back with your winnings. Say you have 8 days left after that. Use them for Tour De 'Toona, Rochester or Green Mountain Stage Race. Wow- 30 race days is a lot and you were able to race professionally maintained wheels for $27/day all season.
Insurance Coverage for the Entire Pass
Echappe is now offering one time payment options for Day Pass purchases to cover you in the event of a crash while on our wheels. This one time payment makes it even easier for you to take advantage of our great service without worrying about the product in your possession. The same as our standard crash insurance, this does not cover you for negligence, loss, theft or intentional damage to our equipment.
Clarify Disc Wheels
1 Day = 1 Disc
1 Day + $20 = Disc +front wheel
Teams: Use multiple days at once
Teams (and large families and groups, we suppose) are allowed to use a few days at once. Buy a 10 day pass, use 10 days at once to get 10 sets of wheels on one day.

Shipping: Please note that our standard shipping conditions apply meaning orders under $150 at a time do not get free shipping. When placing a Day Pass order, we will add the number of days together to see if you exceed $150.
Example: You bought 15 days for $450 and each day breaks down to $30. To get free shipping you'll need to order a minimum of 5 days ($30x5=$150).
FAQ:
How long are my Passes good for?
One year from the date of your purchase.
How do I place a reservation since the shopping cart is set up for standard orders?
Call at 347-404-5315 or click the "Request for Day Pass" ath the top of every page and we can get you rolling. Please give us 2 weeks for your order so we can schedule it properly. We are still a first come first serve basis, and this block does not gaurantee you wheels should someone reserve the available inventory before you.
What wheels am I limited to?
None. This block is open to all brands, types and stages of pricing. Disc wheels are an additional $20/day when paired with a front wheel. Powertaps are $30/day.
Why wouldn't I jut buy wheels on eBay for $825 and use them for the season instead of buying 30 days here?
Everyone who asks this seems to forget that our wheels are professionally maintained, race ready and always reliable. Furthermore, there is not one set of wheels that is perfect for all conditions. Sometimes shallow wheels are better. Sometimes deep wheels are better. With Echappe, you always have the right wheels.
I can afford to buy these, so why shouldn't I?
As the guys at Colorado Premier Training will tell you, there is not one perfect wheel for all conditions. Get the right wheel for the race. Period.
Is Crash Insurance Included?
If you purchase the Day Passes with the Crash Insurance, then yes. If you do not, then you have to buy a coverage plan every time you use some days in order to be covered. More info about the crash insurance is here.
Does this cover disc wheels?
Single discs are covered. Disc wheels when mated with a front wheelare an additional $20/day, regardless of how many pre-bought days you purchased or how many days you are using at once.
Does this cover Powertap wheels?
Powertap Wheels are $30/day regardless of who many pre-bought days you purchased or how many days you are using at once.
If I do not use all my days, can I get cash back?
No, sorry. This is not an exchange for cash program.
Can I add days?
Yes. You can add days one at a time should you run out. The standard addtional day rates apply (see pricing structure below).

FAQ:
What kind of tires do you use? Tubulars we primarily glue Continental Sprinters. For 2009 we are moving to Vittoria EVO-CX tubulars or Challenge Forte tubulars. Clinchers we primarily use Michelin Pro3s with some Vittorias or Challenge tires optional.
Do I have to pay shipping? Orders under $150 do not get free shipping. All orders must pay for return shipping, which should usually be about $20.
Is there a prepaid mailer prepared for the return shipment? Yes. This is how you will return the wheels, and it ensures that we can track the packages on their way back to us. It also tells us if you're late returning the wheels.
Can I pick up the wheels? Yes! We have pick up locations in Manhattan, Los Angeles, Kansas City, and Philadelphia. Locations do not stock everything, so please ask about picking up your specific product.
How do I know the number of days I should rent for? Mark your first day the day you want to recieve the wheelset. If the wheel is in transit from us to you or visa versa, those days are not counted towards your rental days. Days where the wheel is sitting in the trunk of your car, however, do count towards a rental day, even though you are not racing it on that day. Any day that Echappe does not have the wheel, not including FedEx transit days, is considered a billable rental day.
How do you know if I've shipped the wheel on time? Because we provide you with a return label and we can see when its been processed. If you're late, Big Brother tells us.
Can you fix my bike? We charge service fees for repairs to bikes, the same as any other bicycle service. We are not neutral support and we will not repair your bike for free.
Once I get the wheels, I have questions about setting them up on my bike. What can I do? We can try to talk you through a set up over the phone to our best abilities. Otherwise, please visit your local bike shop and give them the much deserved business.
I think my wheels are broken. We don't ship out broken, untrue or otherwise "not race ready" wheels. Zipp Sub9 wheels do not fit in every bike. Some tolerances between frames and Zipp and HED wheels is very low and your bike might be flexing INTO our wheelset. This does not mean you have rented a broken set of wheels or that your bike is bad. Its a learning experience, and a better one that having bought a $3000 wheel to find out the tolerance isn't very good between your stays and the wheel.
Can I rent just one wheel? Yes. We do rent just one wheel for people. The following pages are available:
Zipp: http://racewheelrental.com/products/zipp/frontzipp.php
HED TriSpoke: http://racewheelrental.com/products/HED/hed3frontonly.php
HED Jet: http://racewheelrental.com/products/HED/hedjetfrontonly.php
HED Stinger: http://racewheelrental.com/products/HED/hedstingerfrontonly.php
If I am renting a few things, do I need crash insurance for everything in the cart? No. Once you have selected crash insurance for one thing, everything else is covered in that order. Everything must be ordered at once for this to be in effect.
If Echappe is not at a race, can I still get the wheels? Yes, we ship using FedEx. Our rentals are not dependent upon our race presence.
